Moving: Part Two!

The reason that is takes me so long to post and that I havent' been visiting anyone on the blog-o-sphere lately is that we are in a rural area, on dial-up, and something is really wrong with my line. Right now I'm working at 26.4 Kbps and it is even slower than even that should be! Okay, back to my story...

Well, we prayed and prayed and tentively asked our friend if it would at all be possible to rent-to-own...she talked it over with her hubby. The house had been on the market for three months and only one person had come to look at it. (If I'm wrong, I'm sure my friend will let us know.) Also, she had been very upset about having to sell the house to a stranger. You see, she and her husband and two kids had been living in the house for about ten years and she adores it. It is on 5 acres of land...part of her family's farmland. They receintly adopted two more children and needed a larger home. To make a really long story short, they moved into the house next door...her parents old house...and her parents built a new one near theirs. Near and next door are relative terms here. We are talking IN THE COUNTRY! Well, as you have figured out, they decided to sell us the house...on a rent-to-own basis.

The most wonderous thing about this is that her kids are all homeschooled just like mine. We get to have SO much fun together. When I walk over to her house, I walk down a field of wild flowers. I feel like I'm in Little House on the Prairie! No joke! I have delicious well water, a gas stove, a gas fireplace, oil for heat...and no cable. LOL.

Okay, here are some pics. Oh! I forgot to tell you that it has three bedrooms, a HUGE master bath with one of those giganitc bathtubs and a walk-in closet, a living room (which we have dubbed the library...so many books!), a beautiful kitchen (with an island even!), a dining room that is now the schoolroom/office, a family room with the fireplace, and an area in the kitchen for our dining room table. There is also a 4 foot pool with a deck! And it all sits on FIVE acres of land that is attached to my friend's family farm!

This is a picture of the front driveway with the carport. I haven't yet taken a picture of the actual driveway...you have to be very daring to drive up it! LOL, it is quite an adventure! We got a trailer full of plants part way up the driveway but then the car couldn't make it the rest of the way and we tried backing up and ended in the ditch. Oh my! But I'll tell you all about moving day on the next post in Moving: Part Three.

Here is a picture of a small portion of our backyard...with a dog pen. The backyard extends about four more acres back.

And Next is the view from our front porch...this was last winter. Right now we have a lovely autumn spray of trees. It is too gorgeous to tell!

Keegan, Evan, and I went on a hike (in my friends' backyard next door to mine!) with my friend and two of her kids as well as another homeschooler.

It was a workout! That's me in the checkered sleeves, trying to trudge up the hill. LOL. What an awesome experience! I have so much more to tell you about the history of my own back yard! But that will have to wait for the next post. I've taken up too much space and time as it is! God bless you. I'll post more about it soon!
