Time for a Change of Scenery

My parents just bought this lovely home and have asked me, Dave, and the boys to move in with them.

I know, I know...it sounds a bit strange but we all feel like the Holy Spirit has said, YES.

You see, my parents owned a home with a huge yard on a very steep hill on a lake. It was getting very hard to keep it up. They also missed living in California a bit but they want to still live here, in North Carolina.

So, they are selling the big home and getting one off the lake...it is much less expensive and with the money they save, they will also be able to have a home in California. They can live half of the year here and the other half over there! Two of my sisters and their families live in California still while my sister Kim and I live in N.C. This way, my family will be able to watch after the house while my parents visit California. We will also take care of the landscape (I adore gardening) and we will be there for them as they grow older.

We won't be cramped here either...there are three floors. My family will have the top floor with three bedrooms and a study as well as the basement for our living room, dining room, kitchen, and laundry room. There is so much more space in this new house then where we are right now! Tons and tons of storage. And the yard is awesome...like living in a forest...lots of scope for the imagination here!

So, this weekend I'll be packing stuff...we will have all month to move (starting Monday!) I probably won't blog much...I will do a post on the latest book I read for the Christian Fiction Blog Alliance and I'll try not to be too much of a stranger to all your blogs...but if I'm not showing up as much, you now know why! We will continue posting on Seek and Ye Shall Find although there may be a few days when we cannot. My e-mail will stay the same, don't worry!

Well, pray that everything goes smoothly and we stay healthy for the move! Thank you and God Bless!

Oh! I almost forgot...for my birthday, we went out to the Olive Garden in Hickory...YUM! Then we went and saw the new Pink Panther Movie with Steve Martin. I'm a die-hard Peter Sellers fan but Steve Martin was awesome too! Egads but I laughed so hard and loud! Tears were pouring from my eyes. Kevin Kline and Jean Reno were excellent also.

The next day, the boys and Dave made me a cake. Ah, chocolate. Least I forget, they bought me the DVD and Soundtrack of Bride & Prejudice , a crockpot, and a cookbook!

Here is my review of Bride & Prejudice from January. I adore that movie!

WOW - What a beautiful home - sounds like an awesome plan for you and your family! YEA GOD!

What an exciting new adventure - and I love to play in the dirt too (I mean "garden"...hee hee). I am very excited for you!!

Okay - (showing my age) I use to LOVE LOVE LOVE watching Peter Sellers play "The Pink Panther"....it is one of my favorite memories, cuz I would watch those movies (and Peter Sellers) with my Grandma and we would LAUGH our heads off...

Okay - here's my question - I think Steve Martin is funny, but it seems to me like Kevin Kline looks more like Peter Sellers...so why have Steve Martin play him and not Kevin Kline (since Kevin Kline also plays in this movie and can be funny)...Things that make you go "hummmm???"

Happy Packing :)

What a wonderful gift! How exciting, Mimi—your kids are gonna love all that space, and it's good to be close to extended family like that.

That's how everybody lived in the old days—t's only in modern times that we've separated the generations.

Although, some of the generations I think would rather be separated! I guess it depends on your family relationship.

Wow. What a house! Looks great.

LOVED that one comment of yours on my blog...yeah you know the one....made Jean-Luc stumble over something and he had to delete a comment....toooo funny!!!!

Your parent's house sounds like an absolute dream - location and people ideal. Hope you'll be very happy there. The only hump to be overcome is "moving day". Ugh! Just ask the man who moved an entire house-worth of furniture four times in four years. And no...I'm not a masochist!

The house is beautiful, and the set-up sounds ideal. I love gardening and yardwork, too, so let me know if you need any help!

Sounds like an excellent future...just be careful not to hurt yourself moving! Sorry, that one just popped in my head...

You guys are so AWESOME!

Corry~ Thank you dear friend...I covet your prayers!

Bonnie~ CHORTLE...you crack me up.

Kimber~ See, we are twin Hungarians! Gardening is so fun. Peter Sellers was the absolute funniest man that ever lived. My Dad and I still watch those movies...and laugh until we hurt. "Does your dog bite?...I thought you said your dog does not bite!" "That's not my dog." ROTFLOL

Bonnie Wren~ Thanks! It is strange that people think it is funny when it always used to be like this...just like my homeschooling...I always do something 'out of the ordinary' but what has a long history! ;)

Ciera~ Gee, what comment could you possible mean? Nothing that could possibly be a secret, eh? LOL

Nick~ I know...boy do I know. Moving is not fun...but the dream of setting it all up 'just so' will be what keeps me going!

Fred~ Yeah! I wish you could! Tell your sweet family 'Hi!' You are such a great guy!

Nettie~ Oh great...now I have to knock on my wooden head for luck! Or did you just wish me 'break a leg' so it won't happen now? LOL

Alydyn~ Thanks! I'm sure you will! Oh, and I hope you love Bride and Prejudice as much as I do. I can't get the songs out of my head!

That's such a beautiful house and an amazing yard! It will be so great for you guys to have two whole floors for you, but to also have your family closer to your parents. I would love to be able to do that...with our move, we moved farther away from my parents and don't get to see them nearly as much as we'd like...but we are still close enough to just pick up for the weekend and go and see them.

The packing and prep for the move might be a little tedious, but like you said, the dream of setting up will keep you going!

I hope to hear from you soon...I'll be praying for you!

Cube~ Thanks! It's going well so far!

Ciera~ I used to be MS! (Mimi Szeker!) How funny! Gee, why hasn't Jean-Luc stopped by? He need not be embarassed...I think it is awesome!

Dennie~ Thanks! I just love that yard...so quiet and peaceful. It smells good too!

Pirate~ Yep...lots of room. It'll be great!

Dana T. L.~ Isn't it the best movie? Yeah...loads of fun packing. Heh. But it is all for the good!

Glad things are going well for you. Looks like a great house. I used to live in Maiden, NC, myself. That's right in your backdoor.

That is a wonderful area in which to live.
